TSA pat down my hair a few weeks ago when I was flying out of Indiana. Funny how no one else's hair was pat down but mine. I definitely don't have long hair so why was this necessary?

Its not like they pulled you aside and searched you while no one else was searched. They don't pounce you and do it without warning. They announce to the world that they do these if you want to ride a plane, and you are choosing to ride it, thereby choosing to be searched. Do you remember a minor incident called 9/11? A plane can be turned into a devastating weapon, and people out there WILL take advantage of that. You're just like the idiot who complain and use a mother and five year old being searched as hassling and injustice, saying "You really think that kid is a terrorist?" The mother could be a homegrown terrorist who strapped her son with explosives, thinking that the little jihadist will be in heaven with her. You have to recognize that there are bad people out there in the world who want to kill you, and you can't complain about the simple measures we take to insure 9/11 doesn't happen again.

Mr. Donnelly - as a visitor to your blog, may I put in a request? Please use a different comment system. Disqus is a mess, as anybody who has tried to use the RSS from his comment feed or use the "services" tab when setting up his profile knows, and their customer service is an unprofessional joke.

Your blog and your call, but I will say that being forced to go through Disqus in order to post a comment made getting involved in the discussion, at all, a much less appealing prospect, and that is how the logins work, at this point. I tried signing in through Twitter, a company whose services I am happy to use, and was directed back to Disqus. Had you been talking about almost any subject other than this one, I would have been deterred from getting involved in the discussion, at all.

I can just about guarantee that you're losing a lot of participation, this way. I don't know if that matters to you. Maybe you feel that you're getting all of the participation you want, already, but I just thought I'd bring it up.

Will this do? I was able to find it fairly easily using a Google search under "illinois "law enforcement" filming illegal" - check it out. If you don't like that source, there would seem to be 5.49 million others to choose from.

Actually, tigersfan61, it is illegal to film law enforcement in the state of Illinois. The law is as unconstitutional and as sleazy as Hell, and everybody knows it, but the courts haven't gotten around to striking it down.

One gets to see the dark side of union driven politics in this. A fair number of Chicago cops will, as has been noted before, swagger like B movie villains, telling the latest citizen that they've harassed that they are above the law, and that the other cops will perjure themselves on behalf of any cop who is the subject of a complaint, or otherwise cover for them. There are ... I won't say good, but certainly well thought out reasons why the CPD doesn't want to be filmed. Perjury doesn't do one much good if that pesky film evidence is floating around. Not a problem, though, because the cops have a union. The union does a little schmoozing down in Springfield, and before you know it, the cops can get back to abusing the citizenry without fear of exposure.

Nothing excessively breathless about the video, at all. Law enforcement, in Chicago, is even more corrupt, far more corrupt, than those in the outside world seem to imagine it to be. It has been out of control for years - look up the name Burge - and anybody who shares with the maker of the video the misfortune of being stuck in this miserable hellhole of a city knows exactly why the maker of the video was in the mood he was.

The 67 northeast regional to Virginia is always so much fun! I love taking in the sights! And the wifi enables me to use my Netflix and iHeartRadio apps. I bring dinner on board and I get to choose where I sit. Way better than flying! Woohoo go Amtrak!

I had the same experience when I was in the Marines and my son is having the same experience since he joined the Marines. I also was sent through alternate screenings multiple time on one occasion when they found out I was a law enforcement officer. On the return trip I just showed my driver's license only and I was allowed to proceed with no problems. Seems like they are targeting the wrong people here.

Doctor's notes are worthless. TSA screeners won't even look at them. Most of the time they won't even let you retrieve the note from your bag.

Which makes TSA's much touted card you can fill out a complete joke since the screeners won't even look at it.

After so many years of exposure to X-Rays in the operating room, I refuse to be scanned by the TeraHertz scanners (ProView, etc.). Natural born US citizen physicians and other dedicated professionals, especially those with a lifetime of unavoidable industrial X-ray exposure should not be submitted to this increased cancer risk merely because the US Gov't refuses to do the right thing...and the right thing is to PROFILE.....religiously...racially...and otherwise. And if they grope you, you have a right to protect yourself....demand the police arrive, file a formal complaint with the police (not the TSA) and screw up the TSA's day.

TSA is a joke. When I was in the Marines and I traveled in my dress uniform, I would be picked out of the line from everything else to go through a separate gate. I figured since I'm in uniform, i might be able to go through quicker...NOPE. Almost every time I was made to take off my shoes, belt, tie and blouse, then patted down, while another TSA stood as "back up". This country is turning into a freedomless prison. EVERYONE is a bomb carrying terrorist now right?? If i do fly again, and I have one of the minimum wage classless jerkoffs touch my crotch, someone is getting a knee to the face

Not only will I NOT be subjected to the T.S.A's terrorist tactics ,but the majority of planes that are now flying should be grounded because of age and over usage! To top it off the Gov. is continuing to lay off Air Traffic Controllers at an alarming rate !!!The morning news on any given channel shows how many flight's are in the air -you can't even make out the state lines because there are so many planes in the air !I will close with one last thought,from beginning to end the ENTIRE screening is a complete invasion of our privacy and against our Constitutional Right's ! Now put that in your pipe and smoke it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
